Kuini’s focus is to form cohesive relationships with industries in the water services sector, gathering relevant insights that will shape fit-for-purpose qualifications and training.

Kuini is keen to see the challenges faced by the water services industries turned into opportunities to attract, train, and retain a workforce that will transform Aotearoa now, and into the future. Kuini would also like to see her Pacific communities be inspired with opportunities in water industries and to further the sector’s innovative learnings to transform opportunities in the Pacific islands and beyond. Incorporating mātauranga Māori in building understanding of Te Mana o te Wai underpins Kuini’s drive to engage and raise awareness with stakeholders in the water services industries.

Kuini has previously held relationship management roles with various government organisations, such as the Tertiary Education Commission, Ministry of Social Development, and Oranga Tamariki. Having also held management positions with various private training establishments in Auckland, Kuini has a thorough understanding of the education sector.

When she is not working, Kuini is busy supporting her family and children. She is a board of trustee member and an active member of her local church community, and her Samoan community in South Auckland.
