New skill standards on the way for Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) 10 October 2024 We are in the initial stages of developing new skill standards, or potentially a single standard, for Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers (WTR) to replace the current unit standards 16701, 16702, and 16703. Completing a WTR course is one of the requirements for obtaining a WTR endorsement from the NZ Transport Agency, Waka Kotahi. The new standard(s) will focus on ensuring safe and competent machinery driving. Impacted unit standards 16701: Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for endorsement W (Wheels). 16702: Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for endorsement R (Rollers). 16703: Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for endorsement T (Tracks). Your feedback matters Your feedback will help us align the skill standard(s) with industry expectations, regulatory requirements and best practices. We invite you to provide feedback by completing a short survey before 31 October 2024. This is your chance to influence the future of WTR skill standard(s). Complete the survey Join the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) If you’re interested in providing detailed input as part of our Technical Advisory Group (TAG) we look forward to hearing from you.
