About the Access Trades Strategic Reference Group (SRG)

The Access Trades SRG represents several prominent industries in New Zealand, including:

  • Cranes
  • Scaffolding
  • Rigging
  • Industrial Rope Access
  • Lifting Equipment
  • Exterior Cleaning

Currently, the Access Trades SRG comprises 15 members, including experienced individuals representing industry associations, Waihanga Ara Rau, and education providers.

The Access Trades SRG has been in operation since October 2022, and its areas of focus include:

  • the lack of industry data on workforce demographics
  • the increasing demand for skilled operators and workers
  • the removal of TTAF subsidies and the subsequent drop in learner numbers
  • the quality of training and assessment.
