About the Electrotechnology Strategic Reference Group (SRG)

The Electrotechnology SRG represents a range of industries in New Zealand:

  • Electrical engineering
  • Electronic engineering
  • Electronic security
  • Electronics engineering technician
  • Industrial measurement and control
  • Marine electrical
  • Radio transmission
  • Structured data
  • Telecommunications.

Currently there are 16 members in the Electrotechnology SRG, including experienced people representing the industry, regulator, industry associations, education providers, and Waihanga Ara Rau.

Strategic priorities of the SRG currently include:

  • Current qualifications/pathways
  • Completion of a Workforce Development Plan for the sector.
