Skill Standards Good Practice Guides now available 24 March 2025 The introduction of skill standards as the building blocks of qualifications allows us to reset how the vocational education system delivers the skills industry needs. To support the transition from unit standards to skill standards, we have been working with ConCOVE and Hummingbird Effect to develop Good Practice Guidance to ensure the successful implementation of skill standards. These resources provide practical insights and recommendations for those involved in designing, delivering, and assuring the quality of vocational education based on skill standards. Many in the construction and infrastructure industry will already be familiar with good practice guidance, but applying these principles to vocational education is crucial. Skill standards, as the mandatory building blocks for all industry qualifications, offer a unified approach to ensuring that industry and learners benefit from a high-performing system. The Skill Standards Good Practice research project, developed in collaboration with construction and infrastructure education providers and industry partners, has led to the creation of these guides. They serve as a capability-building toolkit to support excellence in the implementation of skill-standards-based qualifications. We encourage all education providers, industry stakeholders, and those involved in vocational education to explore the Good Practice Guides and integrate these principles into their work. By aligning our efforts, we can strengthen vocational education and ensure it continues to meet industry needs effectively. GET THE SKILL STANDARDS GOOD PRACTICE GUIDES
