Her main job is to understand these sectors’ skills needs and help ensure those needs are met now and in the future. She actively listens to industry to understand their perspective and collects and interprets these insights to inform our strategies, making sure industry opinions and needs help shape our investment advice. The whakataukī, “Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi” (With your basket and my basket, the people will thrive), sums up Kat’s belief in teamwork. She knows that while working alone might help you get by, collaborating with others leads to greater success and prosperity. Kat’s background includes being a qualified carpenter, and she’s also taken on leadership and governance roles in various organisations. Currently, she’s the Wellington Chair of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), demonstrating her commitment and influence in the construction industry.
